I want to easily touch it about talents working in Japan.

すると、 「 それは兄貴ではなく彼女の男だ 」 との答えが即座に返ったのです。まるで他人事の様に笑いを交えながら平静を装って、彼女の私生活を話し出した。

その後、少女が私の元を訪れることは二度となかった。

電話の相手は少女の兄妹を名乗る若者でした。

「 長谷氏がプロモーターを紹介するからと妹を誘い出した。大金を払う事になったから恋人になれと、強引にホテルへ連れ込んだ 」 。

少女のお兄さんは受話器の向こう側で一気に捲し立てた。私は一瞬わが耳を疑い秘書の顔を仰いだ。秘書が僅かに首を振った。

私は長谷氏との関わりを簡単に説明し、少女に話した内容を正直に伝えた。若者は少し冷静さを取り戻したらしく、長谷氏と連絡が取れないと呟いた。

それでも奥さんが日本で夜の商売を続けていると云う事は、彼女にそれなりの深い事情があってのことだろう。「君子危うきに近寄らずと触らぬ神に祟りなし」の諺を絵に描いた様な状況に思えました。

私は彼にではなく少女に向かって、 「 君はまだ若すぎるから私の事務所では引き受けられない 」 と静かに伝えた。少女は一瞬キョトンとした表情で長谷氏に視線を絡ませた。こう云う時の女性は立ち直りが早い。こう言う場面での男は余りにも貧弱で頼りがいがない。

次の瞬間、少女が上目づかいに私を覗き込み視線を絡ませてきた。

私は僅かに頷いて見せた。再び少女は長谷氏に視線を絡めた。それは娘が父親に何かを強請るそれとは少し違っていたと思う。

長谷氏は何とかしてくれと言いながら顔を上げ、彼女の経歴とか身の上を話し出しました。

殆ど聞いていなかったから何を話したのか記憶にないが、私は心の何処かで何かに向かって怒っていたと思う。

何度も断ったが執拗に食い下がられ面倒になってしまった。最終的には長谷氏がタレント養成費を払う条件で、簡単に云いますと押し切られてしまった。

Beginning of friendship / 親交の始まり

少女は可愛い笑顔の隅に酒場の女を忍ばせる陰を宿し、何時も男の心を覗き込むような瞳の輝きが満ちていた。

彼女は悪びれた様子も見せず私に微笑みかけながら、タレントは何人くらい所属しているのかと問いかけて来た。私は数えた事がないと答える。

自分の友達も歌手として日本で働いていると云って笑った。歳に似合わずかなりの社交家である。次の質問を待ち構える私から長谷氏に目線を移した。

男心をくすぐるような目線が長谷氏から私、私から長谷氏へと忙しなく動き回った。私は暫く彼と彼女の顔を見くらべていた。

ライセンスを付ければ直ぐに通用する雰囲気を醸し出してもおりました。然し、女性を見分けるのが商売の眼は、少女の幼い思惑を見落とす事はありませんでした。
